What We Watch in Our House — Disney, Ghibli & More 🎬✨

There’s something about watching movies and anime with your kids that completely changes you.

My boys are obsessed with Coco and Zootopia. We’ve seen them so many times that I’ve lost count — but here’s the thing: every single time, my kids spot something new. A character hiding in the background, a tiny detail on a building, a little joke I never noticed. It honestly amazes me. Kids really do see the world differently!

Watching the same movie over and over with them has actually changed the way I enjoy it too. Now I find myself paying attention to details I never noticed before — backgrounds, tiny expressions, little hidden jokes. It’s like watching with fresh eyes every time!

As for me, I have my own long-time favorites. Bleach, Spy x Family, The Apothecary Diaries, and Studio Ghibli films have all had a special place in my heart for years!

Bleach holds a special place for me — I love the world-building and the unique personalities of each character. And as a total cat lover, I absolutely lose my mind whenever Yoruichi appears on screen! 🐱 I was so happy when the anime continuation finally came back. It felt like reuniting with old friends.

My Favorite Studio Ghibli Film — Spirited Away

If I had to pick just one Ghibli film, it would be Spirited Away without a doubt.

The story of Chihiro — a young girl who gets pulled into a mysterious spirit world and has her name taken away — is just so moving. Even without her identity, she never gives up. She works hard and keeps going, all to save her parents. Every time I watch it, I find myself cheering for her!

My son is also a huge fan. Whenever we visit a Ghibli shop, he heads straight for the No-Face (Kaonashi) merchandise every single time. 😄 And one of his favorite things to do is re-enact the scene where Chihiro stomps on the little bug that falls off her stamp — it’s called a Tatari-mushi! He told me that very seriously. Kids really do pay attention to every little detail!

Today, I got through most of my housework and was ready to settle in for an episode… only to be defeated by the extremely loud renovation noise coming from next door. 😂 Guess I’ll have to save it for tonight, after everyone’s asleep. My little secret viewing session!
